Just like how they celebrated Christmas Day, some of our favorite LGBT personalities took to social media to once again show their pride in welcoming the new year.
Niño Gaddi and Vince Uy
Events organizer Niño Gaddi posted his best nine photos on Instagram, a trend with a hashtag #2015bestnine that chooses the highlights, or the photos with the most likes, on Instagram during the previous year.
The best nine photos include him and partner magazine executive Vince Uy kissing with the controversial Bench ad of the two of them in the background.
Two other photos on the #2015bestnine include the couple posing for the controversial ad.
The partner first became famous for their billboard ad by clothing line Bench showing the two of them holding hands as a couple. The ad, which was part of Bench’s Valentine’s Day advertisement “Love All Kinds of Love” in Feb. 2015, drew controversy when their clasped hands were censored and painted black.
Also part of their #2015bestnine is their front page cover of Philippine gay magazine TEAM for its first ever issue.
Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño
Singer and former child star Aiza Seguerra and wife beauty titlist Liza Diño posted this adorable family photo of the two with Dino’s daughter Amara.
Seguerra appealed to the public to be more understanding of others – regardless of gender – this new year.
“Happy New Year from the Diño Seguerras. Nawa’y mapuno ang bagong taon ng pagmamahal, pag-unawa at respeto sa kapwa lalo na sa sarili (May we be filled this new year of love, understanding and respect for others, and most especially, for ourselves),” Seguerra said.
Meanwhile, Diño on her Instagram account posted her first selfie with wife Seguerra. She also posted their New Year message while they were in Miami for the revelry.
“Happy new year from us!” Diño said while cuddling with Seguerra by a poolside in Miami.
Seguerra and Diño first got married in California on Dec. 2014, and had a ceremonial marriage in Laiya, Batangas here in the Philippines the next month, according to this report.
Trixie Maristela and Art Sta. Ana
Miss International Queen 2015 Trixie Maristela and her partner writer Art. Sta. Ana posted this photo of them together in the official Facebook page of Sta. Ana’s book “He’s dating the transgender.”
“Happy New Year from Art & Trixie! May your 2016 be filled with love!” the couple said in promoting the book about their relationship.
In the same page, the couple also posted a photo of their first breakfast together in 2016.
They used the hashtag #EatLoveTravel.
Maristela in 2015 won the Miss International Queen title, the most coveted beauty pageant in the transgender community.
Maristela is also the reigning Ms. Gay Manila. She had her first break when she won “Eat Bulaga’s” Super Sireyna Philippines beauty pageant in 2014.
Sta. Ana, an aspiring pilot and former radio DJ, is the author of the book “He’s Dating the Transgender,” where he shares the story of his relationship with Maristela.
