Philippines’ bet Christi Lynn McGarry placed first runner-up in this year’s Miss Intercontinental tilt held at Magdeburg, Germany, Friday night (Saturday morning in Manila), an Inquirer.net report said.
This was the second time for McGarry, 25, to join the pageant. In 2010, McGarry won the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International title.
She was chosen to represent the country in the 2010 pageant because Mutya ng Pilipinas-Intercontinental Carla Jenina Lizardo couldn’t make it. But McGarry only made it in the top 10.
It was Valentina Rasulova of Russia who beat 70 other delegates in this year’s 44th pageant.
No Filipino has yet won the crown in the Miss Intercontinental tilt.
